The intensely radiant colors of the Mediterranean are evoked in this wall clock by Palermo-born industrial designer and architect Giovanni Levanti. Produced by fellow Italian house Diamantini & Domeniconi, a leader in clocks for more than 40 years, the Mozia feaures an unusual ratio and sense of color contrast between the minute and hour hands. Traditional shape is turned on end with the wide aluminum face in a thin and cone-shaped form.
Giovanni has realized his design ideas with a wide swath of established companies in his native Italy and worldwide, and several have gone on to become part of the collections of design museums. He also serves as a visiting professor at Palermo University and Milan Domus Academy and teaches at ISIA (Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artisti.
