Matryoshka Dolls

An innovative maverick in fashion, Maison Martin Margiela recently expanded to the world of objects, and, in true form, framing the prosaic in a poetic way by rendering each piece completely in white and with some very Margiela tweaks: A lowly Bic pen is elevated by a real lavish ostrich or goose feather; the touristy tchotchke snowbell supersized and filled with gold or silver “snow,” the Russian nesting dolls reduced to their naked state. This is the first and last group produced in collaboration with Paris design house ENO. The future is uncertain. Stunningly boxed for gifting.
