An architect by trade, Julien de Smedt applied the concept of big-scale building design—specifically the equilateral triangles and principles used in for computer modeling--to these small-scale table objects. The ergonomics of personal use become part of the equation in containers that, in de Smedt’s words, “are crushed for every day use.” Handcrafted of fine porcelain for Finnish design house Muuto, each bowl is unglazed and hand polished outside, glazed inside.
