How can I place an order?
Orders are placed on our website by creating a unique account with your own login and password. You can create an account either by using the "Login" link at the top of the page, then clicking "register here", or you can wait until you checkout, where an account will be created from the information requested. Next time you return to the site, logging in will automatically recall your billing and shipping information. This allows us to provide a high level of security for your personal information, and for you to update your billing and shipping information and other useful data. It also allows you to keep track of your orders, update your billing and shipping information and other useful data. If you do not wish to create an account with us, you can create an order over the phone by calling 310 392 9128 between the hours of noon and 7 p.m. PCT Tuesday through Sunday, or you can fax your order to 323 913 9051.

What forms of payment do you accept?
A+R accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discovery, and Money Orders. We do not accept personal checks. We love cash, however, if you are willing to visit our Silver Lake or Abbot Kinney shops in person!

How is my information secure?
A+R has many security measures in place to protect your personal data. We use SSL [Secure Sockets Layer] encryption technology for all orders and information transfers. All your personal information is stored in encrypted form at all times. We never store your credit card information on file. Instead, you will be required to re-input your credit card information each time you place an order with A+R.

How can I send a message with a gift?
On the final checkout page, a box is provided so that you can send a message with your order. If you have purchased a card, we can write the message in the card for you. If not, we will write it on a postcard, which will be included with your order.

How can I track my order?
An email will be sent to you confirming your order, followed by a second confirming shipment and with tracking information.

What if what I want is not available?
A+R import small quantities of products from many different countries, and so sometimes we may be out of stock of popular items. If the item you want is on back order, as indicated by special notice on the product page, you can still purchase the item and we will email you with an anticipated delivery time. If you wish to wait to purchase the item, contact us at and we will let you know when it is back in stock. If we have any problems shipping any part of your order, we will contact you within 48 hours from the time of your order.

What is a special order?
A special order is for a product or option that we don't usually keep in stock. Special orders usually have a two to three week delivery time (unless otherwise noted) and are returnable for store credit only, and they are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Will I be charged sales tax?
Sales tax is charged to orders shipped in California residents only. Sales tax, if required, is applied at checkout.

Can I cancel an order?
Orders can be canceled within 24 hours of being placed and no later. Please contact us to cancel an order.

What if I forgot my password?
Click on link Forgot Password. Your password will be emailed to the address in our account file.


How do I qualify for free shipping?
Most orders totaling over $100, pre tax, qualify for complimentary shipping. Some special orders or bulky products may incur a shipping surcharge. Check the product page for further details.

Sale items and returns do not qualify for free shipping.

How quickly will my order ship?
Typically, orders ship within 48 hours. Shipment times on special orders and back order items vary. Please check product page for details. If we cannot ship within 48 hours we will inform you with the new shipment date via email.

What about partial shipments?
Sometimes it might be necessary to ship partial orders. In those cases we will inform you by email of the shipment details. Shipment cost is not affected.

How can I get it faster?
We normally ship UPS ground (averages five working days). For faster service, UPS three-day, two-day and overnight options are available at check out for a surcharge.

Do you ship internationally?
General Information
A+R ships to most destinations worldwide. Exceptions are those countries where there is no solid postal infrastructure or where the USA has placed export restrictions. A+R may not legally misrepresent the customs value of packages, nor are we responsible for customs charges levied by the customs of the destination country. We reserve the right to contact you for further information, and in the case of large orders we reserve the right to request a written/faxed/emailed confirmation of your order. To that end, it is important to ensure your contact information is correct at the time of placing the order.

Shipping Times
We ship by International Priority Mail, which on average takes between 7-14 days depending on destination. While we have found this method of shipping to be the most reliable and cost effective, we are not responsible for delays caused by foreign customs or mail carriers. We will email tracking information at the time of shipment. This tracking information is accurate until the package leaves the USA. After that time delivery is dependent on the destination country's reporting. The USA no longer has "surface" or "economy" shipping rates. We can, by special arrangement, ship via Express Mail (USPS), FedEx, UPS, DHL and Air and Ocean Freight. Shipping Cost
Our shipping costs are based on the actual shipping cost, plus a small fee for the preparation of customs documents. We do not make profit on our shipping. Generally speaking, it is most cost effective to group items into a single shipment. Shipping a single, inexpensive item is expensive relative to the cost.

International Returns
Because of the extended shipping times, we will only accept returns from foreign shipments within 6 weeks of verified delivery. All other return conditions apply (see below).

How can I track my order?
Logging on to your account will (soon) give you the option to view your order history. An email with tracking information will be sent when your order ships.


What is the policy on returns?
Purchases can be returned for a full refund, less shipping, within 21 days from delivery date as long as product is in its original condition and returned to us with the original packing, inserts, tags etc. also in their original condition. Purchases during the holiday season (November 14-December 24) may be returned until January 14 of the following year. Returns are not accepted on bedding, skin care, personal pleasure objects and intimate apparel. Special orders, defined as orders of products that are not normally stocked, or those which require upholstery or other individual or non-standard finishes, are non-returnable. In very rare cases, on substantial orders of more than $500 with free shipping, we reserve the right to charge a restocking fee equal to the amount paid by A+R for shipping to client. All returns are subject to A+R terms of use and A+R is not liable for shipping charges on all returns. Exchanges are not accepted, but a product can be "exchanged" by returning it to us for a refund and then re-ordering the product online.

How do I return an item?
Email us at with the details of the item(s) you want to return and the reason for the return and we will happily process your return. You should receive an email with instructions within 7 days from the receipt of your request. If you received a gift from the A+R website, your gift will be refunded for a store credit.

What if the product arrives damaged?
We take every care to inspect and pack our products in an effort to ensure it arrives in a pristine condition. If by any chance damage does occur, please contact us immediately via email at within five working days of shipment receipt to arrange for a replacement. Gift Cards

What is an A+R Gift Card?
An A+ R gift card can be used to purchase any item at our online store.

The gift card can be sent electronically to the recipient or it can be printed out at home so you can personally give it to the recipient. Or there's the option of sending a physical plastic card via regular mail that can be redeemed online.

Gift cards are not interchangeable between our physical stores and website store without prior arrangement: Gift cards purchased on our website are for use on the website only; gift cards purchased in-store are for use in our physical stores only. How do I buy an A+R Gift Card?
To buy a gift card online, go to the "Gift" category on the left-hand side of the main navigation bar. Select and the option to buy gift cards appears. Once on the Gift Card page, enter the amount of the card (from $5 to $5000). Choose electronic or mail delivery options. Fill in the To and From details, and any message for the gift card.

If you have opted to have your gift card delivered via post mail, you will have a chance to enter the gift message on the checkout page.

What does an A+R Gift Card look like?
Besides our cheery green A+R logo against a backdrop of our signature blue shades, the A+R Gift Card features details on how to redeem it on the backside of the card, including the all-important 16-digit code above the magnetic bar which is necessary to fulfill your purchase.

If the gift card is electronic, an email to the recipient (plus an emailed copy for the purchaser) features a virtual version of the gift card. At the top of the email, readers will be asked not to delete the email because it is a gift card.

The physical version of the card resembles a plastic credit card, complete with a swipe bar on the back. Above the bar, find details on how to redeem the card.

When will the gift card arrive?
With electronic gift cards, once the order is placed, the gift card is sent immediately.

Plastic cards are posted by USPS Priority Mail, and should arrive within 3-4 business days. If the value of the gift card is under $100, there is a flat $6 processing and delivery charge.

How Do I use my gift card?
Redeeming your gift card is fun and easy! Gift cards designated for the web store are redeemed at check out. You will be asked to type in a 16-digit code which is found on your card.

Can I use my gift card in both the A+R online shop and at A+R physical stores?

What if my total purchase exceeds my gift card value?
If the total amount exceeds your gift card value, you will be prompted to supply your credit card details or use Paypal to satisfy the remainder on your purchase.

What if my total purchase is less than the value on my gift card?
Any unused balance will be stored in the cardholder's gift card account for use at a later date. To redeem or view a gift card balance, visit "my account" at

Can I transfer any unused credit in my gift card account to someone else, or redeem it at an A+R shop for hard, cold cash?
No. The amount in your account is all yours, and to be applied toward a wonderful gift at A+R... just as the giver intended.

Can I apply my A+R Gift Card toward sale items or in conjunction with any other discount?
So long as the discount is sanctioned by A+R, yes. The A+R Gift Card can be used toward any and all A+R purchases. So knock yourself out.

How do I print a gift card at home?
Upon receiving the A+R Gift Card (whether it's the recipient of the copy received by the giver of the card), simply print it out as you would any other email. But if you decide to delete the email, don't lose the print out! You will need the code to redeem the value.

How do I order multiple gift cards?
On the Gift Card order page, find the option to order multiple gift cards in multiple amounts. Simply choose "Add a Card" to purchase multiple cards. If you want to have the cards delivered via the post mail to different addresses, it is necessary to complete the checkout process for each recipient address.

What if my gift card didn't arrive?
If you ordered a gift card to be delivered through the post mail and it never arrived, please contact us at .

If you opted for electronic delivery, we will email the gift card to the intended recipient and email a copy to you for your records. Sometimes the recipient may not receive the e-mail because of spam filters or other software. We send a copy to you as the giver of the gift card so that you may forward it to the recipient if they have not received the original e-mail.

However, if neither you nor the recipient have received the gift card, please contact us immediately at so we may assist you with your order.

I accidentally deleted my gift card!
If your e-mail gift card is accidentally deleted or lost please contact us at . Do not forget to include any details pertaining to the gift card order, such as last name, first name, e-mail address and so on, so we can track down your order and get you a replacement card as soon as possible. As stated in our terms and conditions, we cannot be held responsible for a lost gift card that has already been used.
